2006 Story

Kim Kerepka of Pelham, NH
was the runner-up Platinum Rider at this years
Quiet Corner's Ride for the Cure.
Kim raised over $2900 for the fight against Breast Cancer.
She more than doubled her goal!

Rain OR Shine...The ride goes on...
It rained, Kim got wet, Blaze got wet, We all got wet.  But a little rain would have never stopped Janice (or as I call her; Mom).  Kim and Blaze went out and rode until it got too dangerous and slippery to ride.  Blaze looked so 'Pretty in Pink', riding in memory of his Auntie Janice.  He wore his beautiful new saddle pad embroidered especially for the ride.  He wore a pink ribbon on his bridle bearing Mom's name.  He also wore a pink ribbon around his neck because his Mom was the runner-up Platinum Rider.  Kim felt bad because she could not ride the entire 10 mile tract through the farms, but where it was so muddy some of the terrain was too dangerous and she feared Blaze would be injured.  I am so proud that she got out there and tried her best; when so many other riders decided not to ride in the rain.  FYI, Kim has never ridden Blaze in the rain before.

Kim's friend, Nancy, went with her last year and, of course, again this year.  Nancy & I waited for them back at the tent, we kept an eye out for the bright yellow poncho & big pink ribbon.  I am so glad I went this year; thank you for asking me, Kim.  I had a great time...even with the rain...it was a great experience.

You did a GREAT JOB, KIM!  Mom, would be proud.

Thank you to
Karen & Dana of Kada's Embroidery

for the gorgeous embroidery
on the Saddle Pad
especially made for the ride.

The rain held off long enough to get some great shots of
Kim & 'Pretty in Pink' Blaze

The start of the ride, just sprinkling at this point.

This ride was to benefit the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation,
to help find the cure for this dreadful disease.

Next year, Kim & Blaze will ride again for this great cause...and I am praying for sunshine...
